Dandara protects workers with local cancer charity
Dandara - a leading property development company committed to employee well-being, is thrilled to announce it is working with Macmillan Cancer Support Jersey, a renowned island-based charity dedicated to improving the lives of those affected by cancer by adopting their suncream stations at their developments.
The partnership between Dandara and Macmillan Cancer Support Jersey underscores their shared commitment to raising awareness about preventable skin damage and promoting a healthier lifestyle. With the rise in skin cancer cases and the undeniable impact of prolonged sun exposure, the Sun Awareness campaign from Macmillan Jersey will play a crucial role in educating individuals on-site about the best practices for sun protection.
‘As a company, we already provide suncream products for our employees across our developments. Therefore, supporting this initiative with Macmillan Jersey is a natural progression for us to make’ said Colin Brady – Health and Safety Manager at Dandara.
Macmillan Jersey launched their Sun Awareness campaign last year – bringing 12 suncream stations to coastal areas for the public to use and gain awareness of preventative measures associated with skin cancers and melanomas. This year the charity are focusing on public and private events, and working alongside other island-based charities and events companies to provide their stations at gatherings across the island during the summer months.
‘We are grateful to Dandara in Jersey for their commitment to our shared cause regarding this project" said Kevin Alway, Operations and Communications Lead at Macmillan Cancer Support Jersey. ‘Skin cancer is one of the most preventable forms of cancer, and through this collaboration we hope to empower their workers to take proactive steps to safeguard their skin health. By working together, we can raise awareness, dispel myths, and encourage responsible sun behaviour.’
