Nada Ear Accupuncture

What is ear or 'auricular' acupuncture?

This is a particular type of acupuncture using very small, fine needles inserted into acupuncture points on the surface of the outer ear. The Oasis uses a very specific form of ear acupuncture. This is a protocol, or procedure, called the ‘NADA protocol’. It uses up to five acupuncture points and needles are inserted just beneath the skin and remain in place for 30-40 minutes, during which time the person relaxes. The procedure is safe and should not hurt.

Ear Acupuncture Eligibility

To be eligible you must:

  • Have a confirmed diagnosis of cancer
  • Be in generally good health
  • Not be needle phobic
  • Be able to read and understand English or have someone translate the information for you
  • Be able to complete and return questionnaires
  • Not want to give blood within 6 months of having ear acupuncture
  • Not have any other form of acupuncture treatment elsewhere during the course of your ear acupuncture treatments

Afternoon Socials

It really is good to talk and even better over tea and cake. These informal, friendly get-togethers are a great way to meet others who have been in a similar situation and meet some of the team at The Oasis. Your family and friends are welcome too.

We will be holding quarterly get togethers for cuppa, cake and chats. The gatherings are informal and held at The Oasis, Macmillan Jersey's cancer support and wellbeing centre and you can be assured of complete confidentiality.

You can follow our our social media channels to find out when the next social is.
